Firstly on Monday Patsy Thompson's new book arrived. I won it on her blog. It takes feathers and their spines much further.
And yesterday afternoon I got a call from the organisers of Quilts UK at Malvern to tell me Old Gold has won the Wholecloth Award and has come 2nd in Bed Quilts. Those of you who have been with me since the beginning of this quilt will remember how close I have come to giving up on it. Indeed, some of you told me I should have done.
I also found how difficult it is to photograph a large quilt indoors. It's not straight on to the camera as whichever room I put it in, if I could fit it all in the frame, a light was in the way. This is a compromise with the quilt at an angle and the camera not centre on....
Congratulations, Sally! The quilt is magnificent, of course, so I'm not surprised that it's had such recognition. Do let us know how you like the book, please! :)
