Puppies and Politics

I am sorry I haven't posted but I have done no sewing at all. We have been on no trips anywhere interesting, mainly because Rupert gets so car sick even over 3 miles. I had stayed with him whilst house training was going on and that has worked. But he is a chewer. He will chew anything and everything. Everything. Money, chairs, cables, cushions, magazines, tissues, books, phones, ipads, anything and everything. It is getting better but we still have a long way to go. I have made a tea of chilli powder and put it into a spray bottle. Whenever he finds something new to chew, it gets sprayed. He has chew toys and bones. He chews those as well...... But he is cute and lovable. He has saved my sanity over Brexit and Trump. Whenever I despair he gives me a cuddle and for a few minutes all is right in my world.

Did I mention he chews everything? I had one day when I stitched a few hexagons, but you guessed it. I put it out of reach on a table to turn off a timer, and he ate it. Luckily I caught him before he swallowed the needle....

So if you like puppies, see how big he is getting. If not, just ignore this post.

I miss my quilting, but I love my dog more.

  1. He is adorable. We lost a beloved dog in June and last week I told my husband I'm ready for a new addition. I can't believe how much he had impacted our life, we always said he was the son we never had. Love the pictures.

  2. I have to tell you that Rupert is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen!! Such a sweet face and his eyes are just beautiful! I can see why you love him so much.

  3. Love seeing the pictures. We lost our much loved Westie a month ago to a snake bite and yesterday we added a 4 year old Carin Terrier to our household. He is a retired stud and loving, sociable and totally untrained so it begins today. Beyond the chewing stage thankfully.

  4. Rupert is *adorable*! I'm a dog lover, too, and can't imagine life without one — currently Bisou, our American cocker spaniel. Good luck with the chew-control; that's a difficult phase. We lost our leather sofa to that one. ;)

  5. Rupert is SO, SO sweet!!!! We had the same issue with chewing...just learned to keep things up and keep eye(s) on the pup...now she will still grab hubby's paper or Pj bottoms and run around the house! And dont leave your glass on the end table! Doesn't matter if it's water, coffee or even wine! She'll drink it! and she is 5! HA

  7. He's adorable! Our Bisou used to chew, too -- she chewed several holes in our leather sofa. Ack!
