I've tried

I still have a block on quilting. I followed the advice of others and just sat down at my machine and started doing a piece of work. It's OK but it doesn't rock my boat much. This could be the choice of fabric primarily. It's covered in bling. It glitters. I bought four bolts of this stuff very cheaply thinking the print was nice. It wasn't until I got home and unwrapped it, I found the glitter. It doesn't matter, it was very very cheap and I can use it to make donation quilts for kids.
So I'm still blocked. Perhaps I should just start making some bright quilts for kids until this phase has passed.
The kittens have been outside twice so far. This is their 2nd outing. Both DH and I are far more worried than we've ever been in the past about letting them out. The plus side will be not having the litter tray, the minus side is how much we shall worry.

  1. Maybe if you give the glittery fabric a long wash it will lose the glitter.

  2. If you don't like the glitter Sally use the reverse of the fabric

  3. I hope your muse returns to you soon! I haven't done any sewing now for nearly 3 months, so if you find a solution, please let me know!

  4. I was going to suggest the same thing as Anne did -- use the reverse. :) Your quilting is so beautiful that I hate to think of you being "stopped" for any time.

  5. You wouldn't tempt a jaded palette with a doorstep-sized, curly-edged stale cheese sandwich, you'd offer something really tempting and bite-sized. What about getting out some really precious fabric, and making something really beautiful, challenging, and *small*.

  7. I sure do understand what you're going through. I went through the same feelings for the better part of this summer. Started to wonder if I'd ever sew again. But, it did pass! And yours will, too. I look forward to seeing what you'll do...

And your kittens are darling! :o)
