Cat stuck up a tree

He was missing for four hours. Eventually he responded to our calls and we found him over the stream and high up a tree.
I do know no one has ever found a dead cat up a tree, but we couldn't just leave him there. Colin went round in the car to get to the other bank. I sent a tall step ladder over, Colin climbed but the tips of his fingers were still a good four foot short of George. Eventually with a bit of encouragement from a lawn rake, Colin got him in his arms and home.
He has now passed out on the chair after a meal of turkey.
We hope he has learned not to chase squirrels up trees.

And my quilting? I haven't been too well of late so nothing has been done. However with tests and refferals in hand, I hope to feel back in the land of the living soon.

  1. Although he could have learned that climbing trees is even more fun than sleeping on quilts, since the whole family comes out to play with him!

  2. He managed to find quite a respectable tree for his adventure too! When Takenoko did the "stuck up a tree stunt" he chose a smaller tree in a neighbour's garden, high enough to cause him trouble but not strong enough for Guy to climb...

    What a scamp.

  3. My cats don't climb trees, though previous cats have done. We did have one cat who was really good at getting down as well as up (though it was scary to watch her - sort of the climbing equivalen of a controlled stagger) - but even she got stuck once - investigating a crows nest at the top of a tall tree (and being dive-bombed by crows did nothing te help the situation) - eventually we got her to walk down one of the lower branches which we pulled down to shoulder height.

  4. Glad your cat survived his adventure and ate a hearty turkey dinner. Hope you soon feel much better.

  6. Hope you will feel better soon - all that testing and referral stuff is quite draining. Our two ginger hooligans used to play aerial chase from one tree to another and we have had several tree incidents like yours - but you have to love 'em!
