I know I haven't posted for ages.

It's June, summer is here.
My sister died in April. I haven't been able to even type those words here until now. She had been ill for so long and nearly died so many times that I think I had got it into my head she would outlive me even though she was 15 years older.
I'll fill this post with photos.

  4. Loss takes so long to come to terms with. No one should expect to eventually "get over it." We all grieve in our own way, move through it at our own pace. Thanks for surfacing and sharing such beautiful quilt photos and then the fun ones at the end. Take care.

  9. So sorry about your sister. Words are so hard to put down on paper sometimes but maybe part of the healing process. When you wrote this post it brought fond memories back of her I am sure. The quilting in your photos is magnificent.

  13. Dear Sally,

The words just don't do it justice, but I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your sister. I hope you are doing ok and drawing some strength from the wonderful memories you have of her. Take this as a long distance hug from the US.

It's so nice to see you are quilting again. Your work is always so beautiful, right down to every detail. I have found quilting to be very therapeutic when I've gone through tough times and I hope it is to you as well.

  15. Sally I love reading your blog and have admired sooo much your skills and in particular your ability to machine quilt. Today I discovered why you have been absent and I would like to say how very sorry I am to hear that you have lost your sister. I hope that all the happy memories will eventually filter through the grief and allow you to remember her fondly....and smile. That is surely what she would want for you.

    Kindest regards
    Linda (Barber)
