RIP my darling boy.

Frank went to the great dog walk in the sky last Thursday. He was the gentlest, most gentlemanly dog ever to walk the earth.
He was diagnosed last New Years Eve with a heart condition. There was no cure. The vet was reluctant to give a life expectancy but when pushed said, six to eight weeks. He made seven months to the day.

When a dog weighs in at 150 pounds (70kg), it is like having another adult human male in the house. When that dog is always with you, at the sewing machine, by the sofa, by the sink, in the garden, then when they are no longer there, you miss their physical presence as much as them.

My beautiful boy might have known how to growl but I never heard it. Loved him so much and this hurts.

Sending love, hugs and kisses all the way on the breeze to you...I know just how you feel...I had to put my boy down when he was 19 years old I miss him everyday and he will always be in my heart....My Gran always said, "if you own a dog prepare yourself for heartache" and it's true. 4. Sally, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm getting teary just thinking about it, as I know too well the pain of losing a furry family member. From his photos, Frank looked like a giant package of love, and I wish there were something I could say to easy your heartache.

  5. Ahhh, Sally, I'm so sorry. Dogs just worm their way in there don't they? One that large must have been an enormous physical presence too. I bet he had the best of lives though, thanks to you xx

  13. Oh no, I'm so sorry Sally. I have been through this with several English Mastiffs and I don't have the heart to go through with it again, I know how hard to is to suddenly not have them around. He really looked like such a loving companion. Sending you my love.
