Very sad news

A routine trip to the vets has revealed our darling Sinclair has only weeks to live. He doesn't know it and nor shall he. We will spoil him rotten (think prawns, haddock etc) until such time as he becomes aware of his illness and is no longer enjoying his life. It's very odd as he is as well as he ever has been, still hunting field mice in the garden. I've come to terms with it and now realise this isn't a bad way for his life to end. He's thirteen, not a huge age but he won't suffer the aches and pains of old age, and the last weeks of his life could well be the best ever.

  1. Oh that is sad Sally, I have lost a few pets myself and it's very hard. Give him as much time as you can spare, you will feel better that you did later.

  7. I'm so sorry, Sally. We've always had dogs, rather than cats, but I know that -- either way -- they're always just part of the family.

  11. This is the news you dread getting at the vets as your cats get older... ours are fourteen and fifteen years old and I keep my fingers crossed!

Sending a virtual prawn or two...

  13. Both my cats are aged now and one in particular is showing signs of age and I am spoiling her. Her son is still quite active. She was a teenage Mum!

Spoil your little treasure for as long as you can! I love the saying that 'Cats leave pawprints on your heart' and I will put that on my website. I adore cats. God Bless!
