It's amazing how this poorly designed quilt looks so much better with the addition of colour. If you are wondering what possessed me to ever buy such a beast, it was on sale at about £3-4 with backing binding and batting and I thought it would be a good piece to practise freemotion grid work on. The major problem was so much of the design element was either just a straight line or the motifs themselves were too close in proportion to the grid.
I'll just colour the outer border and I'll be done with it.
For a method to achieve this sort of effect Irena Bluhm's Quilt of Different Color is a good place to start.
what a difference from what you started with! Its great. :-)
ReplyDeleteI really really like it! You've done wonders and have expressed your own self in more than one way.
