Three sides done

Just to show I haven't been sitting on my backside (well actually I have but at the sewing table), I got three sides of the swags sewn on yesterday and some of the circles prepared. I've laid them out on top of the swags but now I see them in the photo, I'm not so sure. I might end up doing them in the red dot fabric instead. It now measures 96½" square.
I need a bigger house so I can fit in the whole quilt!

  1. It's looking great! I agree, I think red dots would show up better and, with all the work you've put in this, people should see every detail!

  2. Beautiful! The red would show up more, but maybe too much? You can be the best judge I'm sure. Is the border sewn on yet, or are you appliqueing first? Maybe you mentioned that, but I don't remember.

  4. just thought of something you may want to put the red circles down first and then the blue on top
so the red pops a bit but the blue is in there too..
and the red won't stand out there...
    understand?

  5. I think red is well worth a try. You can just make a couple then have a look at it.

  6. have you tried the darker blue that is in the center for the dots?

    The swags are wonderful.

  7. I think those dots do need to pop a bit more....the red would be nice, but then the dark blue would too.
    still...it's lovely.

  8. Why not put bigger red circles and then blue ones on top - they could be just a tad darker. Just another idea

  9. I agree. I'd at least try some red dots to see how they look.
