Must get a post in for September.

It hasn't been a wonderful month.

My dear nephew lost his battle with cancer and things don't get much worse than this. I was seven when he was born and became an aunt so although he was too close in age to really be the next generation, it felt like it. I am just very pleased his diagnosis happened after my sister's demise. It would have killed her to lose her son like this. His sisters have had a few horrible years.

To add to that news, my fibro has been as bad as it ever was. And today even worse than that, even laying down in bed is intolerable. The only way is up.

And on the upside I have finished quilting the giant quilt. I haven't bound it yet. Quite honestly I am scared because there is no where to lay it down and square it off.... All ideas on squaring a quilt without having floor space welcome. (by the way libraries in the UK are not open to this like they seem to be in the USA). It lies sadly neglected in the unused sitting room.

So copping out of that decision until I feel in less pain, I have gone back to the hexagon quilt. The top of the square has been appliqued down, the right hand side has been loosely prepped. The other two sides are just roughly pinned but will not be prepped until the second side is down.
Sorry it is just draped over a sofa.
